IT Technician – Sunshine Coast

Calvary Christian Church is currently inviting applications for the position of IT Technician working in the Sunshine Coast Campus.

About the role:

As an IT Technician, you will be primarily responsible to provide technology support to users across all Calvary locations as well as assist in developing and maintaining the church website.

Key Responsibilities of the role include but not be limited to:

  • Providing technology support (face to face and remote) for users across Australia and South Africa, performing a wide variety of Level 1-3 support across many technologies.
  • Assist in developing & maintaining the Church Website.
  • Providing application support for church-wide systems such as Church Management System, Sentrient & Brushfire Ticket/Registration System.
  • Audit and maintain network & server infrastructure, on-premises and cloud based.
  • Audit and maintain end-user devices according to church IT Asset management policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining cloud-based VoIP PBX systems
  • Participate in the deployment of various IT projects.
  • Assist with spreading the gospel online and creating online engagement through digital technologies such as websites, live streaming, video on demand.
  • Assist with research, development and deployment of new technologies related to digital engagement.

Selection criteria

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the IT Industry with advanced understanding of end user support.
  • Ability to communicate with the highest level of customer service and accuracy.
  • Ability to teach as you solve issues for the staff members you support.
  • Value and enjoy working in a team as much as you value and enjoy working with technical equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand policy and procedure, adhere to requirements and show others how to do the same.
  • Experience using the following technologies:
    • MacOS
    • Windows Server
    • Office 365
    • Backup and recovery
    • 3CX VOIP Telephony
    • Sophos
    • Microsoft Azure & AWS
  • Experience in website design and development using WordPress, Divi, HTML & CSS.
  • Previous project implementation experience will help you within this role
  • Experience working with mobile device managers such as JAMF will help you within this role.
  • Drivers license
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)

Administration Assistant – Townsville Young Adults

Calvary Christian Church is currently inviting applications for the part-time position of Townsville Young Adults Admin Assistant working in the Townsville office  – 2 days per week (flexible work hours provided).

About the Role:

This administration assistant position provides support to key young adult operational functions in the areas of data and dashboard information collection, camps and retreat planning, execution of key activities and events plus administration of compliance systems and providing reports to the Young Adults Pastor.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Assist with key dashboard information and follow up on connect groups in the Young Adults demographic.
  • Plan and co-ordinate key aspects of university dinners.
  • Assist with planning, procurement, administration, and execution of key tasks relating to the following ministry functions:
    • Young Adults Retreats
    • University Ministry
    • NQ Schoolies
    • High School Education Seminars
    • Redfrogs Gala Dinner
  • Administratively manage the volunteer onboarding and Blue Card record and assist in ensuring compliance.
  • Manage and communicate Young Adults calendar, noting timelines for key stakeholders.
  • Provide input into operational systems and effectiveness. 
  • Assistance with compiling event and ministry budgets.

Selection Criteria:

A formal qualification is not required, however it is desirable that the successful applicant possess the following:

  • A demonstrated understanding of Calvary Christian Church and a commitment to its vision and purpose.
  • An understanding of the operation/ministry roles of Red Frogs NQ and how this serves the larger vision of Calvary Church
  • A level of administration experience of demonstratable skill
  • Demonstrated people skills and phone etiquette which includes a friendly and positive disposition.
  • Reasonable computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and online systems such as SharePoint).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to understand church policy and procedure, adhere to requirements and show others how to do the same.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet expected outcomes.
  • Ability to identify and proactively act on issues, problems and opportunities and be solutions driven.
  • Drivers license.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
