Our Story

A faded old photo shows a large group of adults and children posing on the steps of the white, columned Calvary Assembly of God Temple building.

Who We Are

Calvary Christian Church was founded in 1924 when Charles Enticknap preached to a small group of people at a house in South Townsville, Australia. The first convert, Mrs. Howell, gave the equivalent of $5,000 she had invested so that a tent could be purchased for church meetings.

Now, Calvary meets in twelve locations across Australia, South Africa, Papua New Guinea, and India, has an independent P-12 school, Calvary Christian College, and develops leaders through Calvary Leadership College. We are committed to making a difference in our cities through Calvary Care and around the globe through Calvary Worldwide.

Leadership

Calvary is led by Senior Pastors Dustan & Sarah Bell. In each location, Campus Pastors provide local leadership and oversee the ministry expressions in their respective cities. Calvary's governance is comprised of three key groups: Elders, Boards and Overseers.

What We Believe

What We Believe

Calvary is part of the Australian Christian Churches (ACC) movement. ACC is a movement of Pentecostal Churches in voluntary cooperation. Each church within the ACC is self-governing, but works in relationship with other churches in the movement for the purpose of mutual support and the furtherance of the gospel.
